A Full-Day Journey into Sustainable Living, Community Empowerment & Authentic Gambian Culture
Embark on a transformative journey at the heart of local sustainability with MyFarm Africa Startup, a creative and educational NGO dedicated to empowering communities through sustainable agriculture, education, and social innovation. With over 10 years of experience, the project has positively impacted more than 5,000 children and families in The Gambia.
Your visit begins with a guided tour through the gardens, where you'll explore how local resources are turned into opportunity and resilience. You'll pass through the production workshops, where you’ll see firsthand how soaps, mango jams, body creams, and moringa teas are handmade using ingredients grown on the farm. These spaces aren’t just about production—they are platforms for learning, innovation, and empowerment.
The experience continues with educational and cultural exchange activities. You'll spend meaningful time with local children in a vibrant and open environment. Whether it's joining their classes, playing games, dancing, or simply sharing stories and songs from your own culture, these moments are often the most touching part of the day. Visitors frequently describe this exchange as joyful, humbling, and deeply inspiring—connecting people across borders through creativity, kindness, and curiosity.
After a delicious traditional Gambian lunch prepared with love by the cook Sally using solar energy, your afternoon continues with more opportunities to interact, ask questions, and reflect. You'll meet the team behind MyFarm and see how the project serves as a learning center for local schools and community members.
For those who want to extend their stay, MyFarm also offers an optional overnight accommodation in a cozy house with bedrooms, a shared kitchen, and several bathrooms—available for volunteers or any guest who wants to live a deeper and more immersive experience.
This is more than a visit—it's a mutual exchange of stories, ideas, and purpose, where both guests and hosts walk away enriched.
